Renfe wins ‘Outstanding Corporate of the Year’ award for its TrenLab program

This award, granted by the BIGBAN Investors Congress, rewards the company’s activity in the field of innovation.

Renfe wins the ‘Outstanding Corporate of the Year’ award for its TrenLab program at the 9th edition of the BIGBAN awards, given by the BIGBAN Investors Congress, held at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia. TrenLab is Renfe’s accelerator that seeks to drive the company’s digital transformation and reinforce its commitment to open innovation, transforming the passenger experience in the railway sector.

Digitalization is at the heart of the objectives it addresses to explore areas such as Mobility as a Service (MaaS), Metaverse, Blockchain, artificial intelligence solutions or Big Data. Renfe, with its Trenlab acceleration program, opens the doors to innovation in the mobility, transport and logistics sector. Its portfolio is configured with more than 1,000 startups presented, 22 participating startups, and 325 jobs created.

The BIGBAN awards were created with the aim of providing visibility, transparency and excellence to the investment ecosystem. They are developed in two phases, a previous nomination of three candidates by an expert committee and a subsequent open vote of the innovative ecosystem that selects the winner in each of the categories.

BIGBAN Investors Congress is a private investment event with the objective of creating a meeting point between the main actors of the investment ecosystem, such as Business Angels, entrepreneurs, Family Offices,
Corporates and VC’s.
